ANTIWHELM PUBLISHING
You wrote the book
Now publish it
A simple guide to publishing your paperback on Amazon.
Amazon prints and ships each order. No inventory. No boxes in your garage.
Put your book in one file
- Use Google Docs or Word. Save a backup.
- Include: title page, copyright page, contents page, and chapters.
Open your Amazon publishing account
- Go to kdp.amazon.com . Add bank and tax details. Verify your identity.
- Create a paperback. Enter your title and author name.
- Use 6 × 9 inches (most common), black-and-white pages, and cream paper.
- Get a free ISBN, your book's ID number. KDP use only.
Get your ISBN first. Give it to AI for your book and cover.
Ask AI to format your book
- Attach your book file to ChatGPT or Claude.
- Tell AI your size, paper, and ISBN.
- Ask for page numbers and a new page for each chapter.
- Keep all your words. Get a print PDF and an editable copy.
- Check every page. Ask AI to fix anything wrong. See my inside-page sample
Ask AI to make your cover
- Attach your finished book PDF to AI with image and file tools.
- Ask for one cover PDF: back, spine, and front together.
- Give AI your title, author name, size, paper, ISBN, and the look you want.
- Have AI count the pages and get Amazon's cover measurements.
- Leave room for Amazon's barcode. See my cover sample
Upload, check, publish
- Upload both PDFs. Match the book size and paper settings.
- Add your description, search words, and categories. AI can help.
- Confirm your publishing rights. Disclose AI-created writing or art. Formatting alone does not count.
- Check Amazon's preview. Order a printed test copy.
- Error? Show AI. Fix the file. Upload again.
- Choose where to sell. Set your price. Review earnings. Submit.
- Printing comes out of earnings. Printed test copies and shipping cost extra.
